FDP Cornea Series: Innovative Approaches to Classroom teaching - 20th July 2016

The Cornea Series Faculty Development Program on Innovative Approaches to Classroom teaching was held on 20th July 2016 under the aegis of the Department of CSE from 11.30 am to 1.15 pm in the Spoorthi Conference Hall of Academic Block III.

The FDP Coordinator for the session Ms Padmini Bhat, Assistant Professor in the Department of ECE, introduced and welcomed the Resource Person Dr N Sukumara Gowda and the participants. Dr Gowda was florally welcomed by Dr Shreeranga Bhat, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The theme for the session was innovative practices in teaching. Dr Sukumara Gowda emphasized on the teaching practices where the students enjoy the topics that they learn. He stressed on how to reduce the gap between students and a teacher. He suggested to have collaborative, demonstrative, and progressive classroom and to bring variety in teaching practices. He gave his insights saying that knowledge and students are the two arms of a teacher. He concluded speaking about great philosophies of Martin Buber and Gilbert Ryle.

As a token of gratitude Mrs Sridevi Saralaya Assistant Professor, Department of CSE handed over a memento to the resource person. The Session ended with a vote of thanks.
