FDP 2016 Spoorthi Series: Personal Taxation

Under the Spoorthi Series of FDP 2016, a session on Personal Taxation was conducted for the Faculty on 18th July 2016 at 11.15 AM in the Spoorthi Conference Hall. The resource person for the session was Mr Rudolf M C Rodrigues. Mr Rodrigues is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a practicing CA as a partner of the firm M/s Rodrigues & D’Souza.

Mr Rodrigues gave an insight about the Taxable Income and Exempted Income which includes agriculture income, dividends etc. Taxable income can be considered under 5 heads which includes salary, house property, business and profession, capital gains and residuary income. He also spoke about the exemptions and taxations under each category. Mr Rodrigues also briefed the gathering about the deductions under section 80C.

Session concluded with handing over of the memento to the speaker by Dr Vincent Crasta, Dean Student welfare and Alumni Affairs.
