The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a FDP session on Water Harvesting and Conservation under the Spoorthi series on 22 July 2016 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the Spoorthi Conference Hall. The Speaker for the session was Prof. Jagadish Bala.
Prof. Jagadish Bala is an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce, Government First Grade College at Haleyangadi. He is also working in the field of Watershed Management and is a resource person for rain water harvesting project and is also working with NGO’s in the field of water conservation.
Prof. Bala in his session mentioned about the water crisis which is the root cause of many problems. He also gave details about the water disputes which exist between countries and states. In his session he showed concern about the depleting ground water levels and also pollution of fresh water. He also asked the audience to respect water and showed simple ways of rain water harvesting and its advantages with several video clippings. The session concluded with the audience getting their doubts cleared about water conservation.of inter-religious harmony.
