ECE: NCACSP-2016 – Inauguration

The inauguration of National Conference on Advances in Communication and Signal Processing, NCACSP-2016, organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, was held on August 11 at 9.30 am in the Spoorthi Conference Hall of the academic block – III. Shri E Vasantha, Former Deputy Director, Digital & Control Area at ISRO Satellite Centre, Bengaluru, graced the occasion as chief guest.

The function began by invoking God’s blessings with a prayer song by Alisha and team. Dr Savitha H M, HOD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. She also introduced the Chief Guest to the audience.

Lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the beginning of NCACSP-2016. Ms Shama B.N., Convener of NCACSP-2016 briefed the gathering about the Conference. NCACSP-2016 is the fourth edition of the conference organized by the Department.

The Chief Guest, Shri E Vasantha congratulated the Management for organizing this conference. He expressed the importance of bandwidth in the field of communication. He opined that, nowadays Bandwidth is as important as basic needs such as food and shelter. Proceedings of the conference were then released by the dignitaries.

Dr Joseph Gonsalves, Guest of Honor of the function, welcomed all the delegates to SJEC. He also spoke about Indigenous satellites and suggested the students to work for the country and avoid brain drain. Fr Rohith D’Costa in his presidential address congratulated the department of ECE, for organizing the 4th National Conference. He expressed the importance of advancement in communication.
