EEE – SJEC LabVIEW Academy: Seminar on Importance of LABVIEW

SJEC LabVIEW Academy in association with the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering organized an interactive session with Mr Viswerwaran Jagadeesan, Senior Academic Technical Consultant - NI India, Bangalore. The session was conducted for pre-final year and final year students of EEE, ME, CSE and ECE Departments on 24th August 2016.

The main objective of holding this session was to create awareness among the students on the importance of learning LabVIEW from their academic and career point of view. In the first half of the session, Mr Viswerwaran spoke about the ease & powerful automation capabilities of LabVIEW as applied in R&D sections of globally renowned industries, and its significance on academic research to create innovative products with minimum execution time. He stressed that LabVIEW finds its application in variety of fields starting from space, mobile communication, signal processing, power sectors, military application etc. that are responsible for applying research directed to improve the quality of lifestyle in any society, country and the globe. Hence in any university learning, LabVIEW and its application to projects, enables an engineering graduate to obtain placement in core industries and also empowers the student to become an entrepreneur.

Such is the capability of LabVIEW on student career advancement. In the next half session he spoke about the certified exams in LabVIEW, how to deal with projects in LabVIEW platform, and about the project contest and internship with associated companies. Students interacted with the Resource Person and clarified their queries on preparation for CLAD exams and their final year projects.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Vicky Vas from VII semester Mechanical Engineering.
