Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala was celebrated with great fervor at SJEC on 9th September, 2016. The strong contingent of SJEC students from Kerala organized the celebrations in the College Campus. A magnificent colorful Pookalam was laid out in the College Quadrangle. The campus was decorated for the day with traditional coconut tree leaves. Rev. Fr Joseph Lobo, Director of SJEC, Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director of SJEC. Rev. Fr Joseph Cardoza, Campus Counselor, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC and Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal – SJEC, inaugurated the Onam celebrations in the College Quadrangle by lighting the traditional lamp. This was followed by traditional Onam songs and Thiruvadhira dance. Sweets were distributed to all the students and traditional Onam Sadhya was arranged in the Hostels.
