CSE: Engineers' Day Celebrations 2016

To mark the 156th Birth Anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya, Engineers’ Day was celebrated on September 27, 2016. In line with this, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized two events.

·       Poster Presentation Competition

·       General Quiz Competition

POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION

Poster Presentation event was aimed at testing the technical and presentation skills of the participants. Presentation was based on technical theme with relevance to ‘Environmental, Social and Humanitarian Issues’ connected to computer science and information science engineering. Teams of maximum two members were accepted.

The event was held at Bethania hall from 2.00 p.m. To 5.00 p.m. A total of 4 teams participated. The participants presented posters on various topics related to CS and were judged based on theme relevance, design and use of colours and presentation of their respective posters.

The esteemed judges on this occasion were Dr Rajesh P C, Associate Professor, Department of Physics and Ms. Sumangala N, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications. The event was coordinated by Ms. Pramila M, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering along with the student coordinators Mr Rohith Rao and Ms Tanya Nawas  of V Semester CSE.

The first place was secured by Mr. Shreyas Shet, V Semester, CSE and the second place was secured by Ms Deeksha Alva and Ms Aishwarya of V semester CSE. The winners were awarded with trophies and certificates.

QUIZ COMPETITION (QUIZOMANIA)

The quiz competition gave a platform to the students to exhibit their general knowledge skills, aptitude and also provided an opportunity for inter-department students to interact with each other; Teams of maximum four members were accepted.

The event was held at Bethania Hall from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. A 30 teams from both intra and inter departments participated in the event. The first place was bagged by Mabel Philip and team and the second place was bagged by Tanya and team. Mr Nithin K Heraje, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE presided over this event as a judge.

As a token of regard, mementos were given to the esteemed judges for being a part of the event and helping in the evaluation process.

The event received a positive feedback from the participants.
