MBA: Capacity Building Programme on Google Suite for Education

The Department of Business Administration at SJEC organised a one-day Capacity Building Programme on Google Suite for Education ​ - ‘A solution built for Teachers and students by Google’ on 12th January 2017. The CBP was intended to develop knowledge of collaborative learning on a cloud based platform. The participants included Ex-Principals, HODs, Senior Professors, Research Scholars and other faculty members serving in Engineering, Commerce and Management streams from in around Mangalore City.  

Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean-Department of Business Administration of SJEC and FDP-Chair welcomed the august gathering and thanked the participants and Heads of various institutions for their wholehearted support and interest shown in various workshops conducted by the Department. He also introduced the Resource Person Mr Ragesh Raju, Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Computer Applications and mentioned about Google certification for Educators. The session began with a peep into emerging information technology and Google’s educational social responsibility through G-suite.

Mr Ragesh Raju highlighted the importance of G-suite over Microsoft office products and importance of cloud storage in today’s context. The hands on lab session enabled the faculty members to become more familiar with Google products like Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Sites, Drive and Forms. The sessions were occupied with lively interaction from the participants.

he programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Vinish P, Assistant Professor and Organising Secretary, Department of Management Studies. As a token of gratitude Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean - Department of Business Administration presented a memento to Mr. Ragesh Raju. The workshop has created a sense of realisation among the faculty members and they have expressed their willingness to support such initiatives in the future.
