The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at SJEC organized a three – day National level Faculty Development Programme on Programmable Logic Controllers & SCADA from 9th January to 11th January 2017. The resource persons for the FDP were Mr Himanshu Kumar & Mr Amith Kumar of Indwell Institute of Technology, Pune. The objective of this FDP was to enhance the skill development of faculty to contribute towards handling of theory subjects & execution of research projects.
On 9th January 2017, the inaugural function was presided over by Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director - SJEC. The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. FDP coordinator Ms Bharathi Rao, Assistant Professor in the Department of EEE welcomed the gathering. The Guest of Honour Mr Himanshu Kumar, Director of Indwell Institute of Technology - Pune delivered the key note address. In his address, he inspired the participants on the necessity of learning Industrial Automation. FDP co-coordinator Ms Divya K Pai, Assistant Professor in the Department of EEE proposed the vote of thanks.
The three-day training sessions focused mainly on providing theoretical knowledge and hands-on training on PLC software. The participants were also given an overview of the development of SCADA for control applications.
The FDP concluded with a feedback session by the participants. The participants were presented certificates by the resource persons. Around 11 external and 18 internal faculty participated in the workshop.
