SJEC has been recognized as the Virtual Labs Nodal Center, by the Participating Institute NITK, Surathkal. Virtual Labs is a project initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology. These labs, developed by the faculties from the top technical institutions of the country, address the issue of lack of good laboratory facilities, as well as trained teachers, by making remote simulation-based experimentation possible through the internet.
The form of Expression of Interest (EOI) for usage of Virtual Labs has been signed by the Institution in the month of March 2016 and has been renewed in the month of January 2017 in the presence of Dr K. V. Gangadharan, Participating Institute Coordinator who is also Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering NITK, Surathkal, Rev Fr. Joseph J. Lobo, Director SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal SJEC, Dr Prakash Pinto Dean-MBA SJEC, Dr Sudheer M, Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering, SJEC, Mr Ravikantha Prabhu, Assistant Professor and Nodal Center Coordinator, SJEC. This EOI of Virtual Labs usage is valid up to 31st December 2017.
The Virtual Lab Nodal Center at SJEC greatly benefited both faculties and students of all Engineering disciplines.
