MCA: FDP on "Interface Design - Beyond the Campus"

The Department of Computer Applications organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Interface Design - Beyond the Campus” for the faculty of Computer Sciences on 24th & 25th January 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Bishop Aloysius Paul Conference Hall, Academic Block-II. The main intention of this FDP was to provide awareness for faculty to know how, the industry requirements of the interface to be designed for the mobiles, desktop and various platforms. The programme also allowed the faculty to have hands-on experience of the basic interface design with the help of paper, pen and colors to enhance their skills.

The event began with a congregation in the presence of the Resource Person which included Mr Rajaram Shetty, Director, User Experience, CodeCraft Technologies Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru and Ms Likhitha, HR- CodeCraft Technologies Pvt Ltd. Ms Sumangala N, I/C HOD-MCA welcomed the gathering and the resource persons were welcomed florally. Ms Prithvi V Shet, Student of III Sem MCA was the emcee for the event. The occasion witnessed 35 members comprising of faculty from various institutions in and around Mangaluru and also a few interested students of SJEC. Session started with an overview of Interface design by Mr Rajaram followed by a hands-on session to create an “ATM for Kids”

The second day Mr Rajaram addressed the concerns to be taken care while doing a product marketing, preparing design documents followed by a hands-on session to create an Interface design for an app for faculty as well as for the students.

The participants well appreciated the event and shared their experiences for being a part of such an innovative programme, which gave a lot of insight for the participants to design an interface first before creating it on the computer. At the end, the resource persons were felicitated with a memento as a token of appreciation and gratitude by Mr Ragesh Raju, Convener & Assistant Professor-MCA.
