The inaugural ceremony of Genesis, A Forum of MBA students, SJEC for the academic year 2018-19 was held on 29th October 2018 at 2:30 pm in Spoorthi Hall. The function was graced by Mr. Sheelam M Thippeswamy, Alumnus of MBA (Batch 2007-09) as the Chief Guest, Dr. Rio D’Souza, Principal- SJEC as the President, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Chief R&D - SJEC as the Guest of Honour, Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean, Department of Business Administration, SJEC, Ms Chitralekha Acharya, Faculty Coordinator of Genesis and Mr Rhyes Rego and Mr Sudarshan Bhat, Student Coordinators of Genesis, were present on the dais. The invocation was led by the MBA Choir. The gathering was welcomed by Ms Deeksha of II year MBA.
The dignitaries officially inaugurated “Genesis” with lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest Mr Sheelam M Thippeswamy is an actor and also a senior financial analyst in HP. He has completed his MBA from SJEC and a Six Sigma certified at IIT Delhi. He is also a brand ambassador of local cloth brand and model for Kempegowda statue. He addressed the gathering and told that it is his pleasure to be back to SJEC. He told that his acting career started from SJEC and proudly said that he has taken corporate knowledge from SJEC and implemented it in Film Industry. He motivated the students by saying that hard work and being honest is a key to success and also emphasized that discipline has been clearly defined at SJEC. Dr. Rio D’Souza appraised Mr. Sheelam for being a role model for MBA students. He also said that one should be independent to be interdependent. Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis addressed the gathering by stressing on the words leadership and hard work.. He proudly said that many have transformed into successful professionals after pursuing MBA in SJEC. Mr Sudharshan Bhat of II year MBA proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Vandhan Lobo of II year MBA was the master of the ceremony of the event.
