Inauguration of SJEC Distinguished Lecture Series by Dr Austin D'Souza Prabhu

The SJEC Distinguished Lecture Series was inaugurated by Dr Austin D'Souza Prabhu; Chicago based Konkani writer, dramatist and social activist on 3rd April 2017 at Kalam Auditorium by a lighting of the lamp ceremony. Rev. Fr Joseph Lobo, Director of SJEC welcomed the Chief Guest and the audience. In his welcome address, the Director mentioned the service of Dr Austin to his motherland and mother language despite being based in USA. Ms Shakila B. Faculty MBA  introduced the Chief Guest to the audience.

Dr Austin Prabhu delivered the first distinguished lecture on the topic Journey of Success, Leadership and Service. Dr. Austin Prabhu began his session by posing a question to the students, the meaning of discipline. He mentioned the three innovative things which are important in life, three undeniable things and three gems in life and also gave a gist of the three dangerous things that will make a person unsuccessful. He also spoke of the twenty two things that should be adhered to by everyone in his/her life in order to achieve success and also explained the eleven things which will help in improving our morale. Further, Dr Austin gave his own life examples on how he faced the challenges and how he overcame them.

The session was moderated by Dr Vincent Crasta, HOD - Physics Department. As a mark of love and respect the members of the Management - SJEC felicitated Dr Austin Prabhu.

Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal SJEC proposed the vote of thanks and Ms Michelle Rosario compered the inaugural function.

Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal - SJEC, Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director – SJEC and Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean – MBA and Convener of the ceremony, were present on the occasion.  The audience comprised of staff and students of SJEC.
