GRATIA 2017

Gratia 2017, commemorating the campus placement achievements of the final year students for the year 2016-17 was organized on 11th May 2017. The event also extended gratitude to everyone involved in activities related to placements at SJEC.

The event began with an invocation. Mr Keith Fernandes, Assistant Professor from the Electronics & Communication Department welcomed the gathering. Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal – SJEC, shared his insights on the campus placement process and appreciated the efforts of the team and thanked everyone who has helped the Placement Department in its efforts. The Placement Officer – Ms Sangeeta Ferrao, shared a presentation highlighting the placement activities, numbers achieved till date, and stressing on the importance of accepting the offers secured through campus placements. She also requested the outgoing students to remain connected as alumni.

Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC shared his vision and asked the students to take on the journey of life with confidence. He said that SJEC has helped nurture students to become effective professionals and that they can face the world with knowledge and confidence now. Rev. Fr Joseph Lobo, Director – SJEC congratulated the placement team for its efforts in placing the students and thanked the Faculty member for the support extended during the placement activities. He told the students, in his message, to remember 4 LOOKS – Look Backward – to see the past, learn from the past and to be grateful to people who have helped reach this level, LOOK FORWARD – to look forward and see the future and make efforts to achieve the said goal by remaining grounded always in attitude, LOOK AROUND and see different things and learn from peers, and LOOK ABOVE and thank the almighty for all he has blessed with and remain gratified. His message was to pray and remain humble. He concluded his speech by wishing all the students, success in their future endeavours.

The event was compered by Mr Joel Concessao– Assistant Professor from the Mechanical Engineering Department. The event ended with a vote of thanks.
