EEE : Technical Talk On “Building Information Modeling [BIM]-Future of Construction”

The EELS association conducted a technical talk on the topic ‘Building Information Modeling [BIM]-Future of Construction’ on 25th October 2017 from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm in the Spoorthi Conference hall. The talk was delivered by Mr Glenn Noronha, Energy Specialist , United States Green Building Council and was intended for the 3rd, 5th & 7th Semester B.E, E&E Students.

The technical talk aimed at providing updated knowledge on BIM and its importance in the current construction field. The resource person elaborated on the topic and informed the audience that BIM is a process for creating and managing all the information on a building project – before, during and after construction. The output of this process is the Building Information Model, the digital description of every aspect of the built asset. He also added the importance of learning BIM in the present scenario while compared to the existing AUTOCAD tool that is being practiced in the industry. He stated that training on BIM could be taken up by the Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering students and also stated that student trained in this field are being paid highly by the industry.

The technical talk was interactive and well appreciated by all E&E students present.
