The Fourth Lecture in the SJEC Distinguished Lecture Series was held on 11 August 2018 at Bishop Aloysius Paul Conference Hall, Academic Block II. Dr John Miller, Retired Senior Lecturer, United Kingdom and Dr Subramaniam Arunachalam, Senior Lecturer, University of East London, United Kingdom were the speakers. Dr Prakash Pinto, Professor and Dean, MBA, welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons to the audience.
Dr Arunachalam spoke on Transforming Higher Education: Guidelines for Designing Teaching and Learning for a Digital Age. He highlighted that traditional method of teaching has been transformed into digitized teaching. Education is a two way communication between teacher and student. The learning and teaching in today’s era have been altered to digitized teaching and learning. He stressed upon enhancing the students skills and abilities which include experiential learning, smart work, decision making skills, communication skills and problem solving skills in order to be prepared to work under agile environment.
