The FESTO Centre for Industrial Automation is an SJEC Initiative, anchored by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, to facilitate industry oriented hands-on training in the field of Industrial Automation / Mechatronics using appropriate equipment and simulation tools for the students, faculty, and working professionals from the Industry. The center will provide FESTO Didactic training solutions in the field of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, PLC, Factory Automation, Process Automation, etc.
Through the Centre for Industrial Automation:
The Center will support students in their activities related to:
The FESTO Centre for Industrial Automation is realized as part of the Institution’s MoU with FESTO. The purpose of this MOU is to initiate Industry Institute Partnership (IIP). The objective of the Industry Institute Partnership (IIP) is to reduce the gap between Industry expectations (practice) and Academic offerings (theory) by direct involvement of Industry to attain a symbiosis. All the Stakeholders, namely: Institution, Industry, Faculty, Students and Society stand to gain as it can be a win-win partnership.
The mobile workstation is designed as a mobile ergonomic workbench, when training on pneumatics, and it will permit several people to work simultaneously. This is further facilitated by the two integrated fixed drawer units that ensure quick and easy access to the required components of the Learning System. With back to back arrangement of profile plate, each workstation can accommodate two trainer kits.
The Pneumatic Training Kit (Basic Level) shall be capable of being used to demonstrate the design, construction and application of pneumatic components and circuits.
The kit shall be capable of being used to demonstrate the following:
Each set consisting of:
Supplementary equipment set to upgrade from Pneumatics, Basic level to Electro pneumatics, Basic level
