SAEINDIA is an affiliate society of SAE International, registered as an Indian non-profit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of the mobility community in India. As an individual member driven society of mobility practitioners, SAEINDIA comprises members associated with transforming the transportation industry - which includes engineers, executives from the industry, government officials, academics and students. Principal emphasis is placed on industries such as automotive, aerospace and commercial vehicles. SAEINDIA promotes and undertakes initiatives for knowledge dissemination and advancement in mobility technologies catering to land, sea, air and space. Out of many student centered events, BAJA SAEINDIA is one of the grandest event falling under the umbrella of SAEINDIA.

BAJA SAEINDIA aims to educate undergraduates about industrial practices through designing and building all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). It enhances technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and practical knowledge. The competition includes virtual design showcases, physical performance tests, and a rigorous endurance race. Criteria for evaluation include cost-effectiveness, aesthetics, and vehicle performance in dynamic scenarios. The event fosters hands-on learning, innovation, and prepares students for real-world engineering challenges since its inception in 2007.
We group of passionate engineering students who participate in the BAJA SAEINDIA competition, which challenges them to design, build and race, off-road vehicles. These teams are typically associated with various universities and colleges across India. In the workshop provided, the Students Work tirelessly on the vehicle, applying engineering principles to craft innovative designs and solutions. Their workshop becomes a hub of creativity and innovation, where students learn practical engineering skills and gain hands-on experience in problem-solving. Overall, SAEINDIA BAJA teams exemplify the spirit of innovation, teamwork, and perseverance, showcasing the talent and potential of young engineering minds in India.
