The Department of Business Administration at St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) hosted a grand farewell ceremony titled "Hasta La Vista" for the outgoing batch of 2022-24 on August 31, 2024 in Kalam Hall. The event was honoured by the presence of Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash Dsouza, Director; Dr Sudheer M, In-charge Principal, Dr. Prakash Pinto, Dean and Professor; and Ms. Acharya Chitralekha J, Faculty Coordinator.
Mr. Prabal Hegde, Student Coordinator welcomed the gathering. Dr Sudheer M, In-Charge Principal, in his address, expressed deep gratitude to the parents for their sacrifices in supporting their children's education. He praised the outgoing batch for their academic achievements and active participation in college events, which brought pride to the department Dr. Sudheer shared two impactful stories. The first, about a lion in the jungle, emphasized the need for courage and leadership as students move forward. The second, involving a king and two beggars, highlighted the importance of seizing opportunities. He urged the students to be proactive and make the most of every chance in their future endeavours.
The Director, Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash Dsouza, also addressed the gathering, congratulating the outgoing batch on their accomplishments. He expressed his best wishes for their future endeavours, reminding them to carry forward the values and lessons they learned during their time at the institution. Mr. Chinmay Krishna delivered the vote of thanks. Nuha compered the formal event.
The informal program was a vibrant celebration filled with fun, entertainment, and laughter. To create an engaging atmosphere, various games were organized, adding a competitive yet playful spirit to the event. Cultural performances, featuring both juniors and seniors, highlighted the students' diverse talents and contributed to the festive ambiance.
During the program, snacks were served to keep everyone refreshed and energized. A special highlight was the screening of a heartfelt video clip that showcased the beautiful memories of the seniors, stirring nostalgia and celebrating the experiences shared throughout their time at SJEC.
As a token of appreciation, mementoes were awarded to each senior, honouring their journey and achievements. The event reached its peak with a lively DJ session, where students danced to upbeat music, immersing themselves in the joyous atmosphere and cherishing the final moments of their college farewell.
The farewell ceremony was coordinated by the Class Representatives of First Year MBA – Chnimay, Medonna, Olin & Prabal.
