Industrial Visit 2024

       1. SRR Industries Adyar. 

The Department of Business Administration of St Joseph Engineering College Mangalore organized an industrial visit for the First year MBA B batch students as a part of providing practical knowledge and exposure to students on 9th August 2024 to SRR industries Adyar Mangalore. The visit on 9th August 2024 was accompanied by the faculty Co-ordinators Dr Shakila B and Mr Cherian Xavier accompanied by faculty members Mr Nelson Marwin Fernandes and Ms Prajwala Preema Rodrigues. On reaching there the students were addressed by the production supervisor. She first explained about the labelling process of various masala packets by showing the automated laser jet printing with regard to the date of manufacture, batch number and expiry period. Later the students were taken into the production plant where the raw materials like Ginger, Garlic etc were cleansed before considering it for production. The unit owns large capacity machinery for mass production of a variety of Masalas. The students witnessed the live process flow and saw the system of packing the masalas of various packet sizes.

2. Deccan Plast, Industries, Konaje 

To provide the students with practical exposure to the industrial environment, complementing their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, I MBA Batch A students visited DECCAN PLAST Industries, Konaje on 14th August 2024. They were accompanied by the Dr Prakash Pinto, Dean- MBA, Dr Shakila B, Faculty Coordinator and other MBA faculty members- Mr Anath Bhat, Ms Deepthi Dinesh and Mr Thilak Gowda. During the visit, the industrial staff provided comprehensive information about the various operations within the industry. Students learned about the manufacturing processes of different types of chairs, including tables, baby chairs, tubs, and containers. They were given detailed insights into how these materials are produced and the functionality of over different machines used in the manufacturing process. The visit to Deccan Plastic Industry provided the students with valuable real-world exposure to industrial operations and sustainable practices..

      3. Bright Flexi International Private Limited, Padubidri.

On 3 September 2024, I MBA Batch B of St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, visited Bright Flexi International Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of FIBCs, PP woven sacks, fabrics, and more. The visit was organized by Dr Shakila B, Associate Professor, accompanied by Ms Prajwala Preema Rodrigues and Mr Thilak Gowda, Asst Professors, St Joseph Engineering College Mangalore and involved 60 students divided into three groups, each guided by industry experts. The company sources raw materials like polypropylene, low-density polyethylene, and calcium from various locations, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Mangalore, and international suppliers. The manufacturing process starts with melting and mixing raw materials using a ‘Stipler’ machine, followed by thread production with an ‘Extrader Winder Machine.’ These threads are woven into fabric in the looms section and undergo rigorous quality checks using a Universal Tensile Tester. The company emphasizes quality control and sustainability, recycling defective products and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Bright Flexi exports its products to several international markets, including the USA, Canada, and African countries, with major clients like Ultratech Cement and Ramco. The visit was highly informative, showcasing the company’s dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability, providing valuable insights into modern manufacturing processes  

4. Leksa Lighting Technologies Pvt Ltd, Moodabidri.

On 11 September 2024, I MBA Batch B of St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, visited Leksa Lighting Technologies Pvt Ltd, Mijar, Moodabidri Taluk. The visit was organised by Dr Shakila B, Associat  Professor, accompanied by   Ms Deepthi Dinesh  and Mr Thilak Gowda, Asst Professors, MBA Department St Joseph Engineering College Mangalore. Leksa Lighting is an industry that designs and manufactures lights for different occasions. It has a complete design and tukey solutions for stage lighting and drapery systems as per intentional standards. It also manufactures lights for film and fiction shoots, for interior and exterior light designs and lights for fountains etc. The visit commenced with a presentation on Introduction of Leksa Lighting by Mr Ronald D Souza, CEO at Leksa Lighting. He gave the details of their recent Indian and foreign projects. This was followed by the amazing light show using the lights that were manufactured by Leksa Lighting. The students were divided into two groups and were sent for the industry tour to different departments. The students were taken to the production line where all the components are assembled and made into a complete product before testing them. The students interacted with the employees of Leksa lighting in Q&A session. The visit was highly appreciated by all the students and faculty members
