The webinar on "Remote access to VTU consortium e-resources using Knimbus for first year BE students and staff of SJEC was organized by the Department of Chemistry, Central library SJEC in association with Knimbus publishers on 28 November 2024 at Kalam auditorium of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor between 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ms Jyothi Barkher, Delivery manager. Knimbus, South region was the resource person.

The technical talk was conducted both offline and online mode. Ms Jyothi Barkher mentioned that Knimbus is an online platform that enables access to e-resources such as journals, e-books, and provide an access to the digital content that aims to provide students, faculty, and researchers with access to a wide range of e-resources, that is part of the VTU Consortium.
She also explained about the steps to access VTU Consortium e-Resources using Knimbus which includes registration, login to Knimbus, browsing the resources, accessing to the full text resources as well as citing and downloading. In her presentation she emphasised on the benefits of using Knimbus plat form such as a vast repository of academic materials without additional cost, convenience of a unified platform that integrates many databases, enhanced research productivity due to easy access to up-to-date research papers, journals, and books and remote access to e-resources, making it ideal for those working off-campus. The session was appreciated by the audience. The students were presented with post quiz and given e-certificates.
