TechPrints 4.0 – A National Level Technical Paper Presentation Competition organized by the Department of Computer Applications under the banner of its Students Association - TechnoCrats, was held on Wednesday, 6 th April 2016 in the Spoorthi Conference Hall, 7 th Floor of Academic Block-III. TechPrints 4.0 provided a platform for budding professionals to share their ideas and discuss about the advancements in technology.
TechPrints 4.0 was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries including Mr Harish Kumar, CEO of Accolade Tech Solutions - Mangaluru, who was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Function. The other dignitaries present on the dais were Rev Fr. Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director, and the President of the Function, Dr Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal/Dean-MCA, Ms Sumangala N, I /C HOD MCA and Mr Gururaja S, Convener-TechPrints 4.0. The Chief Guest, Mr Harish Kumar, addressed the gathering wherein, he voiced his opinion on coping up with the growth in technology. He also spoke about the recent trends in Android Application Development which was well received by the audience. The President of the Function, Dr Rio D’Souza appreciated the staff and students of the Department of MCA for putting up a great show. He also urged the students of the Department and the participants to take part in more such technical events wherein they get to test their technical mettle. Inaugural function also saw the release of the proceedings of TechPrints 4.0, by the Chief Guest along with the other dignitaries present during the occasion.
The conclusion of the formal function was followed by parallel presentations which were held at 2 different venues simultaneously. Papers were called for the topics under the broad categories of Data Mining/Neural Networks/Machine Leaing/Image Processing/Patte Recognition & Big Data on one side and Computer Networks/Mobile Computing/Cloud Computing/Multimedia Applications on the other side. All in all, 30 papers were shortlisted and were called for presentation on the occasion. Out of the 30 presentations, 12 were under Stream 1 and 18 were under Stream 2. The presentations under Stream 1 are being judged by Dr Reeja S R, Associate Professor-CSE and Mr Raghavendra Achar, Assistant Professor-CSE whereas the presentations under Stream 2 are being judged by Mr Shreenath Acharya, Assistant Professor-CSE and Mr Sunil Kamath, Assistant Professor-CSE.
