Objective of the Activity:
The objective of the KJES Youth Animators Leadership Orientation Programme was to develop leadership qualities, teamwork, communication skills, spirituality, and responsibility among youth animators. The programme also aimed to strengthen unity, friendship, self-confidence, and motivation for service through prayer, reflections, presentations, discussions, and interactive activities. It provided an opportunity for the participants to learn from one another, reflect on their journey of service, and prepare themselves for future responsibilities as youth leaders.

Description of the Activity
Students from St Joseph Engineering College namely Ms.Vinisha Dias, Mr.Sanjo Thomas V.S, Mr.Priston D Almeida, and Mr.Jeston D’Souza participated in the three-day KJES Youth Animators Leadership Orientation Programme held at Biccodu along with 18 youth animators and KJES Advisor Fr. Merwyn Loyd Fernandes SJ.

The programme was conducted in a beautiful guesthouse surrounded by coffee estates and greenery, which created a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere throughout the camp. The natural surroundings, cool weather, and calm environment helped the participants relax, reflect, and connect more deeply with one another. The first day began with lunch and rest followed by preparation activities in groups for presentations and cooking sessions. Participants actively worked together in preparing Donne biriyani, which became a joyful team-building activity where everyone shared responsibilities and enjoyed cooking together like a family. The evening session included prayer, inauguration, action songs conducted by Suhasini and Vinisha, and icebreaker activities led by Jennis which created energy, interaction, and excitement among the participants. Topic presentations by different groups were conducted followed by Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Merwyn Loyd Fernandes SJ. The day concluded with examen, singing, jamming, games, and informal interaction which strengthened bonding among the participants. The second day began with meditation and review sessions in the hall. After breakfast and action songs, a reflection session was conducted on the Ignatian theme “Motivation that Perseveres.” The participants reflected deeply on their service, leadership journey, and personal experiences. During the sharing session, participants openly discussed questions related to their inspiration for service, moments of discouragement, and ways in which God was guiding them to continue their mission with renewed freedom and commitment. These sessions created a meaningful and emotional atmosphere of trust, encouragement, and understanding among everyone.

Presentation sessions continued throughout the day, where different groups shared their assigned topics and ideas. The rainy weather during the afternoon made the surroundings even more beautiful and peaceful, and participants spent time singing, playing, and jamming together indoors. In the evening, the participants enjoyed tea, walks, and fun activities like hide and seek in the coffee estate, creating joyful memories filled with laughter and friendship. The day ended with Holy Mass, campfire, fun games, dinner, and recreation where everyone gathered together, shared stories, sang songs, and enjoyed each other’s company.

The final day began with contemplation followed by breakfast, action songs, and the remaining topic presentations. Briefing sessions were conducted regarding future plans, MAGIS activities, and upcoming events. Participants also reviewed the three-day programme by sharing positive experiences and suggestions for improvement. Holy Mass was celebrated before everyone joined together for cleaning and packing activities. Before departure, the participants spent time taking photographs, sharing memories, and expressing gratitude for the beautiful experience they had together during the programme.
