Venue: Cross, Bangalore
Organized by: Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC)
Objective of the Activity:
To strengthen youth leadership, promote collaboration among member movements, deepen spiritual formation, and develop a common pastoral action plan for youth ministry under the theme “U-Power”.
Description of the Activity:
The KRYC First Live-in Council Meeting 2026 was conducted under the theme “U-Power”, focusing on empowering youth leadership and service. The inaugural session was led by Fr. Ashwin Cardoz, with activities coordinated by Sr. Lenita Lobo and the prayer service led by AICUF. A formation session on “Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was conducted by Fr. Anil Prasad, who encouraged youth leaders to remain rooted in Christ-centered values rather than worldly standards. The session emphasized servant leadership through the example of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples.
The gathering included faith-based icebreakers, interactive activities, and group discussions that encouraged participants to reflect on leadership, faith, and service. Members actively shared their insights and experiences through thought-provoking discussions. A rich spiritual atmosphere was fostered through the Holy Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharistic Mass. Participants were invited into deeper prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.
A testimony-sharing session provided an opportunity for members to share about their families, personal struggles, life experiences, and faith journeys. Special emphasis was given to the call that inspired them to become active members and leaders within their respective movements. Representatives of various member movements presented the mission and vision of their organizations. The council also reviewed future plans and requested all member movements to submit their Paschal Reports by 21 August 2026, which will be presented during future council meetings.
The council adopted three major Paschal Plan objectives:
It was resolved that:
Monthly online meetings were scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM, with the July meeting hosted by AICUF.
During discussions on Pro-Life, Healthy Family, and Sexuality, members proposed experiential programs, exhibitions, and collaborative awareness initiatives. To address concerns related to mental health and addiction, the council recommended conducting a counsellors’ conclave through Google Forms and organizing a three-day spiritual and counselling retreat for youth in genuine need. Career guidance and skill development programs will be organized with the support of Don Bosco Youth Group. To address the limited knowledge of Church teachings among young people, plans were made to create faith-based digital content and collaborate with resources such as YOUCAT. To strengthen the digital presence of KRYC, a Media Team and Editorial Team were formed. These teams will work towards launching an e-magazine and providing training in poster design and media tools, including Canva workshops.
Conclusion:
The KRYC First Live-in Council Meeting 2026 successfully brought together youth leaders from various member movements for formation, fellowship, prayer, and planning. The meeting strengthened collaboration, renewed commitment to Christ-centered leadership, and established a clear roadmap for future youth ministry initiatives. Participants departed with a renewed sense of purpose, unity, and responsibility to serve the Church and society through effective youth leadership.
