Introduction:
KJES Youth Works, in collaboration with AICUF Karnataka, organised a Shramdhan & Gathering programme on 8th August 2026 at the new AICUF & KJES Youth Works Office at St. Aloysius Institution, Mangaluru. The programme was organised with the theme “Many Hands, One Mission”, highlighting the values of service, teamwork, responsibility, fellowship, and unity among young people.
The main objective of the programme was to clean, organise, and prepare the new AICUF & KJES Youth Works Office so that it could become a welcoming, functional, and useful space for future youth activities and initiatives.
Participation:
The programme brought together students and AICUF members who enthusiastically contributed to the day's activities. Six AICUF'ers from St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, actively participated in the programme. Along with them, students from St. Aloysius Institution were also present and took part in the various activities.
The participation of students from both institutions created an atmosphere of cooperation, friendship, and fellowship. Everyone worked together by sharing responsibilities and contributing their time and effort towards preparing the common space.
Activities Conducted:
The programme began with the gathering of the participants at the venue, followed by the distribution of different responsibilities. The participants actively engaged in the cleaning of the office premises.
The floors and different areas of the office were swept and cleaned, while dust and dirt were removed from various surfaces. The participants also cleaned different corners of the office and ensured that the premises were neat and presentable.
The students then worked together to organise the furniture and materials in the office. Tables, chairs, boxes, and other items were moved and placed in suitable locations. Materials that had been kept in boxes were sorted and arranged properly so that they could be easily accessed when required.
The participants also helped in setting up the new office. Furniture and other materials were arranged according to the available space, making the office more organised, comfortable, and functional.
The work involved sweeping, cleaning, carrying and arranging materials, organising furniture, sorting items, and preparing different sections of the office. Everyone contributed according to their ability, and the tasks were completed through cooperation and mutual support.
Fellowship and Team Building:
Along with the physical work, the Shramdhan programme provided an opportunity for fellowship and team building. Students from SJEC and St. Aloysius worked together, interacted with one another, shared responsibilities, and encouraged each other throughout the activity.
The programme created a friendly and energetic atmosphere where participants could get to know one another better. Working together towards a common goal helped strengthen the bonds among the young people and encouraged a greater sense of belonging and responsibility.
The experience also demonstrated that service is not only about completing a task but also about building relationships, developing teamwork, and contributing to the community.
Outcome of the Programme:
The Shramdhan activity successfully transformed the new office premises into a cleaner, more organised, and welcoming space. The office was cleaned, furniture was arranged, materials were organised, and the space was prepared for future AICUF and KJES Youth Works activities.
The programme also encouraged the participants to understand the importance of maintaining and taking care of a common space. It promoted the values of service, cooperation, teamwork, responsibility, and unity.
For the six AICUF'ers from SJEC, the programme was a valuable opportunity to actively participate in a service-oriented activity and experience the spirit of AICUF through practical action. The participation of the St. Aloysius students further strengthened the sense of collaboration and fellowship between the students.
Conclusion:
The AICUF & KJES Youth Works Shramdhan & Gathering was a meaningful and productive programme that brought students together in the spirit of service and teamwork.
The day was not merely about cleaning and arranging an office. It was about building a common space together, taking responsibility for it, and strengthening the bonds among young people.
The theme “Many Hands, One Mission” was truly reflected throughout the programme. The six AICUF'ers from St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, along with the students of St. Aloysius Institution, actively contributed to the successful completion of the activities.
Through their collective effort, the participants helped create a clean and organised space that can support and inspire future youth activities and movements. The programme concluded with a sense of satisfaction, fellowship, and accomplishment, reminding everyone that when many hands come together with one mission, meaningful change can be created.
