AICUF State Council Meet and Leadership Programme

The AICUF State Council Meeting and Leadership Program 2025 was hosted at St. Joseph’s
Engineering College, Mangalore, on August 29–30. Our college had the privilege of
welcoming youth leaders from across Karnataka for this two-day program, which aimed to
build leadership skills, deepen awareness, and strengthen the AICUF spirit. Around 20
enthusiastic SJEC-AICUFers rendered excellent volunteering service, ensuring the smooth
 flow of the event.
Day one began with registration, followed by a prayer song and the Presidential Address by
Ms. Salomi, who emphasized unity and responsibility. Dignitaries including Fr. Ashwin,
Dr. Rio D’Souza, and Fr. Joel inspired the gathering to see leadership as service. The newly
elected members were formally welcomed with badges and an oath-taking ceremony. The
day continued with an ice-breaker, keynote sessions by Fr. Ashwin and Fr. Joel, and
interactive discussions on youth leadership and the mission of AICUF. In the afternoon, a
panel discussion, group activities, and team discussions encouraged participants to think
critically about social issues and AICUF’s role today. The evening concluded with vibrant
cultural performances by teams on themes such as democracy, corruption, and care for the
 environment, leaving a lasting impact.
Day two began with an inter-religious prayer service, symbolizing unity across faiths.
Sessions by Brother Rudoulf, Mr. Vaanz, and Mr. Elson D’Souza focused on values,
education, and critical thinking, using stories, songs, and activities to inspire participants.
Mr. Royal Dsouza later led an insightful session on cyber security, sharing practical tips for
 online safety and awareness.
The valedictory program was graced by Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash Dsouza, Fr. Antony Derik,
Fr. Joel, Mr. Salman, Mr. Joysun Dsouza, and Ms. Salomi Dsouza. Fr. Joel delivered the
Valedictory Address, while volunteers were appreciated and participation certificates
distributed. Feedback from participants highlighted the enriching experiences and
learnings of the two days. The program concluded with the AICUF Anthem and a fellowship
 lunch.
Accommodation for all participants was arranged in the SJEC hostels, making their stay
comfortable. Overall, the program was a memorable journey of learning, reflection, and
unity, leaving participants motivated to carry forward AICUF’s mission of justice, service,
 and transformation
