The Department of Computer Applications successfully organized the MCA Project Exhibition 2025 on 13th August 2025. Held in the MCA laboratories, the event featured around 8 teams comprising IV Semester MCA students who presented their final-year projects and research work. This exhibition served as a platform for industry-academia interaction, providing participants with valuable exposure to real-world applications and feedback from industry experts.
The exhibition showcased innovative solutions in areas such as AI-driven applications, health tech, and campus management systems. It aligned closely with the programme outcomes (POs) specified in the Project Work Syllabus for MCA, particularly PO2, PO3, PO4, PO5 and PO8.
A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the projects based on innovation and originality, functionality and performance, presentation, practicality and real-world impact, design and aesthetic appeal, and Q&A performance. The evaluators included:
Mr. Murari B K, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, SJEC – An internal expert with extensive experience in guiding student projects.
Mr. P C Vijay Ganesh from VRICSA Technologies Private Limited – An external industry evaluator. VRICSA Technologies Private Limited, incorporated on 12th July 2022 in Tamil Nadu, India (CIN: U52390TN2022PTC153805), specializes in transforming tech education through innovations in RISC-V architecture, AI, and microservices (using technologies like GoLang). The company focuses on bridging the gap between academia and industry by promoting advanced computing education and solutions.
After rigorous evaluation, the top honors were awarded as follows:
First Place: Anish Larson Pereira for "Agroscan AI: Smart Crop Disease Detection and Soil Analysis System" – A groundbreaking AI tool for agricultural diagnostics.
Second Place: Stan Avil Dsouza for "Herbitect - Medicinal Leaf Detection System" – An innovative system for identifying medicinal plants using image recognition.
The MCA Project Exhibition 2025 provided a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their technical skills and creativity through hands-on projects. Such events encourage innovation, foster industry-academia collaboration, and inspire students to develop solutions with meaningful societal impact.
