IASF 2023

The IUCEE Annual Student Forum (IASF 2023), organized by the IUCEE Foundation and co-hosted by the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering in Mysore, took place from January 4th to 6th, 2023. 

Our undergraduate students participated in this intensive three-day program centered on the theme "Sustainability Inquiry: Investigation into SDGs (6, 7, 11, 13, 15)." Under the leadership of Program Architect Ms. Sampada Pachaury and a distinguished panel of mentors, including Smarter Dharma co-founder Karthik Ponnapa, UNEP Plastic Tide Turner Sneha Shahi, and ClimAct Foundation founder Heeta Lakhani , students engaged in data-driven investigations to learn about climate change impacts in their immediate surroundings. 

The program focused on developing a "Sustainability Awareness (Practice & Preach) Model," an innovative approach to simplify and spread sustainability education. By applying scientific inquiry to real-time data, students cultivated curiosity, critical thinking, and creative thinking skills—competencies specifically identified by the World Economic Forum as top priorities for the 2025 workforce. This forum provided an invaluable platform for our students to transition from passive learners to active sustainability advocates, gaining both technical knowledge and essential soft skills.
