Monsoon Photography Contest on the Occasion of World Rainforest Day 2026

On the occasion of World Rainforest Day 2026, SJEC ECOVEX, in association with the Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Chemistry, and CCG, organized a Monsoon Photography Contest with the theme "Capturing the Beauty of Monsoon at SJEC." The contest aimed to create awareness about the importance of environmental conservation while encouraging students to appreciate and capture the beauty of nature during the monsoon season. Students were invited to submit original photographs taken within the SJEC campus along with a brief description explaining the significance of their photographs. The contest received an enthusiastic response, with 28 students participating. The entries showcased the lush greenery, vibrant landscapes, and ecological richness of the campus during the monsoon. The photographs were evaluated based on creativity, originality, photographic quality, relevance to the theme, and the accompanying description.

Based on the evaluation, Mr. Melvin K V (2nd Year B.E., Computer Science and Engineering, USN: 4SO24CS129) and Ms. Keerthana Nair (2nd Year B.E., Computer Science and Engineering, USN: 4SO24CS137) secured the Prize. Both winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹1,000 each.

The programme successfully promoted environmental awareness, encouraged students to observe and appreciate nature, and provided a creative platform to express their perspectives on the importance of conserving biodiversity.
