St Joseph Engineering College hosted a 36-hour HackToFuture 2.0 Hackathon, organized by EG India Pvt Ltd in partnership with the college. Held on February 19–21 at the Kalam Auditorium, the event brought together over 150 ambitious students from across India, tasked with solving challenges in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, and Social Innovation. The hackathon witnessed immense talent and creativity from participants shortlisted from 1,600 registrations across 13 states. The top 40 teams worked tirelessly to transform their ideas into tangible solutions over an intense 36-hour period.

The winners across the four tracks were awarded a cumulative cash prize of ₹2 lakhs. In the Artificial Intelligence category, Team Gabbar Singhs (SJEC) secured the top position, with Team Code Commandos (NMAMIT, Nitte) as runners-up. In Blockchain, Team Digital Voyages (Sri Sairam College of Engineering) emerged victorious, followed by Team CODIUM (P A College of Engineering). The Cybersecurity track saw Team FullStackSlayers (NITK Surathkal) clinching the top spot, with Team Jinsei (SJEC) taking second place. Finally, in the Open Theme category, Team Cyrus claimed the winner’s title, closely followed by Team ShurikenSyntax (SJEC).

Allan Bech, CTO of EGDK, commended the innovative use of emerging technologies, urging students to collaborate and strengthen their ideas to help Mangaluru evolve into a thriving technology hub. Erik Tomren, Executive Vice-President, emphasized sustainable innovation for addressing global challenges, while Jacob Buchardt, Vice-President Corporate PMO, highlighted the region’s potential for professional growth in the tech sector.
