The Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), organized a hands-on workshop aimed at enhancing teaching techniques through innovative digital tools. The workshop, titled “Innovative Teaching with Canva and Quizizz,” focused on introducing faculty to user-friendly yet powerful tools for creating engaging learning content and interactive quizzes.
 
This event, held on Friday, 7th March 2025, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, brought together staff members to explore and learn how these tools can be integrated into their teaching practices to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. The workshop provided an interactive session where Mr. Ajeeth B, the resource person, guided participants through the various features of “Canva” and “Quizizz”

  1. Canva
    - Introduction to Canva as a tool for creating visually appealing teaching materials such as infographics, presentations, and posters.
    - Hands-on experience in designing custom templates for course materials.
    - Tips for using Canva to enhance the visual appeal of learning resources and making content more engaging for students.
  2. Quizizz
    - Demonstration on how to create quizzes and assessments that promote active learning.
    - Practical session on designing multiple-choice questions, polls, and other interactive activities to make quizzes more engaging.
    - How to track student performance and get feedback using the platform.


Participants were encouraged to actively engage with the tools during the workshop, ensuring they gained the skills needed to implement these strategies in their own teaching practices.
 

The workshop proved to be an enriching experience for the participants, offering them the opportunity to explore creative and effective ways to communicate educational content. By the end of the session, the attendees had developed a clear understanding of how to use Canva and Quizizz in their teaching environments, enabling them to create engaging lessons that can stimulate student interest and participation.
 
Feedback from the attendees indicated a high level of satisfaction, with many expressing excitements about integrating these tools into their classrooms.
