The Department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, in association with Finnovate, MarketSense, and EmpowerNet, powered by Genesis, organized a Creative Commercial Contest for the 3rd Semester MBA students on 11th and 25th October 2025. The contest aimed to enhance creativity, teamwork, and marketing communication skills among students by engaging them in the development of innovative commercial videos.
The first phase of the event was held on 11th October 2025 for the Final Year MBA ‘B’ section students. Participants displayed exceptional creativity and originality through their commercial concepts and video presentations. The event was judged by Mr. Nandan B. K. and Ms. Deepthi Dinesh, Assistant Professors from the Department of Business Administration, who appreciated the students’ ability to translate marketing ideas into impactful visual content. Their insightful feedback motivated participants to further refine their creative and analytical thinking skills.
The second phase of the contest was conducted on 25th October 2025 for the Final Year MBA ‘A’ section students. This phase showcased a wide range of engaging and thought-provoking commercials that blended creativity with strategic business perspectives. The event was judged by Mr. Ananth Alias Rohit Bhat P. and Mr. Cherian Xavier, Assistant Professors from the Department of Business Administration, who commended the participants for their innovative approach and effective communication of business messages. The students shared their feedback on the contest held and there was a positive response to conduct such events in the future.
The contest was coordinated by Ms. Prajwala P. Rodrigues and Mr. Cherian Xavier, Faculty Coordinators, along with Mr. Nelson M. Fernandes, Genesis Coordinator. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr Prakash Pinto, Professor and Dean, Department of Business Administration.
The Creative Commercial Contest provided a vibrant platform for MBA students to apply marketing concepts in a practical and creative manner, encouraging innovative thinking, collaboration, and confidence in business communication. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the department’s continued commitment to experiential learning and holistic student development.
