CSE: Talk on “Start a start-up – Become an Entrepreneur”

 

The CSI-SJEC Student Chapter in association with the Industry and Innovation Group (IIG) organized a talk on “Start a start-up – Become an Entrepreneur “on 26 th October 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Webinar Hall. The Resource Person for the talk was Mr Gopalakrishna Bhat Kakunje, Managing Director of Kakunje Software Private Ltd, Mangaluru.

The Talk was organized for the 7th semester CSE students. The programme was conducted to give the students an insight into entrepreneurship and its challenges.

Mr Aronstun, student of 5th semester CSE was the Master of Ceremony of the function and he warmly welcomed the gathering. Mr Gopalakrishna Bhat then opened his session with the perks of being an entrepreneur and also mentioned that one should not restrict themselves to a particular discipline and embrace innovation. He explained the foundation for a start-up and the various schemes provided by the govement to encourage young entrepreneurs. He stressed on the role of accelerators and incubation centres and the kind of start-up ecosystems they provide. He then went on to discuss his own entrepreneurship jouey and the various challenges that he faced, the major ones being Account and Employee management. He also spoke about Licenses, patents and copyrights. He concluded his session stating that one should focus on customer satisfaction and quality and also added that courage and willingness to do everything and anything are the two most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur.

On the whole, the session was informative and insightful and gave the students a peek into transforming their ideas into a business.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Aldrin, student of 7 th semester CSE. The session concluded at 1:00 pm and around 120 students attended the talk. The programme was coordinated by Ms Sunitha Guruprasad, Assistant Professor in the Department of CSE and staff Coordinator of CSI-SJEC Chapter.  The Office bearers and members of CSI provided all the help required to conduct the session successfully. As a token of appreciation, Mr Gopalakrishna Bhat Kakunje was felicitated with a college memento.
