AICUF Orientation at St. Xavier PU College, Gulbarga

An AICUF Orientation programme was conducted at St. Xavier PU College, Gulbarga. The programme was organized by the Karnataka Jesuit Educational Society (Ignitors) along with AICUF Karnataka. The programme was led by Fr. Merwyn Loyd Fernandes, the AICUF State Advisor of Karnataka. From St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, Vinisha Dias, the Women Commission Head of the college and KJES Youth Animator, was also present and actively involved in conducting the session.

The session began with an energetic action song to create enthusiasm among the students. Vinisha Dias, as an Ignitor, conducted a session explaining what AICUF is and shared its history, objectives, and activities. The session provided students with a clear understanding of AICUF’s role in forming responsible and socially aware student leaders.

A question-and-answer session followed, where students actively clarified their doubts. Ice-breaker activities were conducted to promote interaction, teamwork, and confidence among the participants. Later, Fr. Merwyn Loyd Fernandes delivered an inspiring session on Education and Student Responsibility. Through various meaningful activities, he encouraged students to reflect on the social problems around them and understand their responsibilities as students and as AICUFers. He guided them to connect their academic subjects with real-life social concerns and inspired them to take positive action in society.

The programme concluded with an inspiring rendition of the song “If We Hold On Together” sung by Fr. Merwyn Loyd Fernandes, which deeply motivated the students. The event ended with an action song and the AICUF anthem.

The AICUF Orientation programme was meaningful, interactive, and inspiring. It successfully motivated students to become socially aware, responsible, and active members of society. The session encouraged them to understand their role as students and to contribute positively to the community through the values and vision of AICUF.
