SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. As an individual member driven society of
mobility
practitioners the ownership of SAEINDIA wrests with its members who are Individuals from the mobility
community,
which includes Engineers Executives from Industry, Government Officials, Academics and Students
SAEINDIA is an affiliate society of SAE International registered in India as an Indian nonprofit
engineering and
scientific society dedicated to the advancement of mobility industry in India.
Benefits of SAEINDIA:
Members will be a part of a National organization with a link to SAE International, whose benefits are
geared
specifically to the needs of the mobility engineering community. The formal education and professional
development of a member will be enhanced through our SAEINDIA member benefits. Many of these benefits
and
opportunities are outlined below.
- SAEINDIA is one of the few professional engineering societies whose membership represents
practically
every engineering and scientific discipline.
- Membership provides for regular members to have access to e-magazine
- Members can purchase SAEINDIA and SAE International technical papers and publications at member
discount
prices.
- Members receive free registration at SAEINDIA's lecture meetings and exhibits.SAEINDIA regularly
plans
and offers many career development activities such as job fairs, career enhancement
sessions,
resume/recruitment boards, and resume database services.
- Access vital high-tech mobility information through renewal registration fee for attending
SAEINDIA
National and International Congress.

TECH
Programs.
About SAEINDIA Student Collegiate Club
SAEINDIA has over 40,000 student members in more than 328 collegiate clubs located all over India as on
March
2013. Collegiate clubs provide practical exposure as a professional engineering society and as
a focal point for campus engineering programs and projects.
Applicants must be students pursuing studies leading to any bachelor, masters, or doctoral degree in
Engineering
Colleges approved by AICTE..
SAEINDIA Collegiate clubs offer student members well organized programs and activities, fellowship, and
leadership experience. SAEINDIA student members are also entitled to many of service available to
SAEINDIA
members.
SAE Activities:
SAEINDIA Engineering Education Board is responsible for developing, conducting and maintaining various
programs
and activities for the Knowledge and Skill enhancement of Engineering Student Members and Engineering
Faculty
Members. Following are the list of activities.
- BAJA SAEINDIA: The BAJA SAE tasks the students to design, fabricate and validate a single
seater four - wheeled off road vehicle to take part in series of events spread over a course of 3
days that test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices that have gone into it, the agility
of
the vehicle in terms of gradability, speed, acceleration and maneuverability characteristics and
finally its
ability to endure that back breaking durability test.
- SUPRA SAEINDIA: This event challenges young minds to compete as teams in designing a Formula
category vehicle. As a one year long challenge across multiple stages comprising of design defense
(“Virtual Supra” in event language), multiple rounds of technical inspections and actual
construction of the
vehicle, this event helps shape future engineers through competitive spirit and encompasses all
elements
of a vehicle building for aesthetics in design, to the choice of parts, through structure design and
modeling, to fabrication and testing. This event sets the stage to assess the capability for
teamwork,
entrepreneurship, leadership and management skills of the 'students
- EFFI-CYCLE: “EFFI-CYCLE” derived from Efficient-Cycle promote the objective of providing
opportunity to the students to conceive, design and fabricate a three wheel configuration vehicle
powered by
human-electric hybrid power and capable of seating two passengers catering to the day to day
mobility needs.
The vehicle must be aerodynamic, engineered for performance and safety and ergonomically designed.
The
objective is to promote innovation and generate consciousness amongst the young engineers towards
environment friendly mobility solution. SINE 2015-Student Industry Education program is a forum
established
by the SAEINDIA Off-Highway board to provide exposure of Off-highway industry to women engineering
students
and engage more women engineers with this industry. Fifty women students will be selected from
various
engineering institutes across the country. They will undergo two weeks of learning through industry
visits,
product and technology trainings, and personality development courses.
- Career Start: Career start is a yet another fit into SAEINDIA’s mission towards
development of young skilled work force for automotive industry in India.
- Your Future in Automotive: Your Future in Automotive was created by FISITA: the International
Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies, to help students and young people everywhere find
out more
about studying engineering at university and about the many exciting career opportunities for
engineers in
today’s automotive industry.
- SAE Supermileage: The Supermileage competition provides engineering and technology
students with a challenging design project that involves the development and construction of a
single-person, fuel-efficient vehicle. Vehicles are powered by a small four-cycle engine. The
vehicles will run a specified course with the vehicle obtaining the highest combined kilometers
per liter (miles per gallon) rating plus design segment points winning the event. Students have
the opportunity to set a world fuel economy record and increase public awareness of fuel
economy. Engines are donated by Briggs & Stratton
- SAE Aero Design competition is intended to provide undergraduate and graduate engineering
students with a real-life engineering challenge. SAE Aero Design features three classes of
competition-Regular, Advanced, and Micro. The importance of interpersonal communication skills is
sometimes
overlooked, yet both written and oral communication skills are vital in the engineering workplace.
To help
teams develop these skills, a high percentage of a team's score is devoted to the design report and
the oral
presentation required in the competition.
