About IIC

The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, through the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC). It aims to systematically promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Higher Educational Institutions by engaging students and faculty in innovation-related activities throughout the academic year.

At SJEC, the IIC functions as a catalyst for developing an innovation ecosystem by organizing workshops, seminars, ideation challenges, hackathons, startup awareness programs, intellectual property rights (IPR) sessions, incubation support activities, and industry interactions.

The council actively collaborates with academic departments, industry experts, startups, entrepreneurs, incubators, and innovation organizations to provide students with opportunities for experiential learning and real-world problem solving.

The Institution's Innovation Council strives to:

  • Promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty.
  • Encourage idea generation and design thinking practices.
  • Organize innovation challenges, hackathons, competitions, and bootcamps.
  • Facilitate mentorship for innovative projects and startup ideas.
  • Create awareness about patents, copyrights, trademarks, and intellectual property.
  • Encourage participation in national innovation initiatives and competitions.
  • Support commercialization of research outcomes and student innovations.
  • Develop leadership, teamwork, and entrepreneurial competencies.
