The FESTO Centre for Industrial Automation is an SJEC Initiative, anchored by the Department of
Mechanical Engineering, to facilitate industry oriented hands-on training in the field of Industrial
Automation / Mechatronics using appropriate equipment and simulation tools for the students, faculty,
and working professionals from the Industry. The center will provide FESTO Didactic training solutions
in the field of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, PLC, Factory Automation, Process Automation, etc.
Through the Centre for Industrial Automation:
- FESTO will provide certification, alone or in association with SJEC, as joint certification for the
participants who have undergone training at the centre after evaluation from FESTO.
- FESTO will recognize the 4-weeks internships offered by the FESTO Centre for Industrial Automation.
to students of SJEC and outside, and offer them a joint certification under the insignia of both
SJEC and FESTO.
The Center will support students in their activities related to:
- Academic Projects on Automation.
- Participation in World Skills Competition.
- Technical Competitions and Hackathons.
The FESTO Centre for Industrial Automation is realized as part of the Institution’s MoU with FESTO. The
purpose of this MOU is to initiate Industry Institute Partnership (IIP). The objective of the Industry
Institute Partnership (IIP) is to reduce the gap between Industry expectations (practice) and Academic
offerings (theory) by direct involvement of Industry to attain a symbiosis. All the Stakeholders,
namely: Institution, Industry, Faculty, Students and Society stand to gain as it can be a win-win
partnership.
- The Institution stand to gain by way of up-to-date curricular, revenue generation by Consultancy and
Research & Development, employment opportunities for student.
- Industry stands to gain by way of availability of employable manpower pool, and increased
productivity.
- Faculty stand to gain by way of exposure to latest Industry practices for more effective
teaching-learning processes, etc.,
- The Industry will help the institute in updating knowledge by facilitating internship, project &
placements for the eligible candidates.
- Students stand to gain by way of hands-on training, reduction of learning curve in industrial
practices.
- Society stands to gain by way of improved quality of goods and services.
