The 6th AICUF National Convention, held at Loyola College, Chennai, from May 16-18, 2025, focused on the theme "Students in Pursuit of Change: Embrace, Encourage & Engage". This event was particularly significant as it celebrated 100 years of AICUF. Five first-year students from Saint Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, were among the 80-member Karnataka delegation who participated. The convention commenced with a Holy Mass and a grand inauguration at Bertram Hall, where the history and growth of AICUF were highlighted. Inspiring talks were delivered on topics such as youth as agents of change, listening to the unheard, and building unity. Cultural nights were also held, featuring performances from various states, including a folk dance and skit on equality and justice by Team Karnataka.
The second day of the convention included workshops on diverse topics such as constitutional rights, social justice, climate crisis, digital awareness, gender equality, and building peace. An AICUF Centenary Exhibition, showcasing 100 years of the organization's history, was also visited. On the final day, a student declaration was collectively drafted and read by representatives from all states, emphasizing commitments to uphold the Constitution, stand with marginalized communities, protect the Earth, promote peace, and fight injustice. Certificates and a centenary souvenir were presented, and a final group photo was taken with over 500 students. The SJEC team reported feeling more confident as leaders, inspired to protect justice and peace, and enriched by new friendships and a deeper understanding of India's diversity and Constitution.
