Department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with the Research & Facilities Group organized a session on “Author ID’s & Profiles: Way to Enhance Research Visibility through IRINS” for the research scholars & newly joined faculty members on 3rd May 2024 from 3:00pm to 4.30pm in the Prerana Hall. A total of 17 participants from SJEC participated in this programme.

Ms Vanisha Preethi Santhmayor, Assistant Professor, CSE welcomed the gathering, highlighted the programme's objectives and introduced the Resource Person, Dr Felcy D’Souza - Librarian SJEC. The main objective of this session was to provide awareness of the key features and functionalities of IRINS and how to create researcher Identities and their importance for research communication & NIRF.

The Resource Person gave a brief idea about Author_ID/Researcher ID and its importance. She demonstrated on the creation of Google Scholar ID, Orcid ID, Scopus and Web of Science researcher IDs. She then gave information about Research Information Management System, challenges in the Research Eco-System and expectations from the Stakeholders. She gave a detailed insight on IRINS and creation of IRINS Faculty Profile @ SJEC. She said that every faculty should create their research identity which will be helpful in building a scholarly network of SJEC and faculty members.

Dr Sunitha Guruprasad, Associate Professor, CSE and Coordinator of the session, felicitated the resource person. The session was interesting and the participants were actively involved and interactive throughout the programme. Feedback was taken at the end of the session.
