Following the subscription for the Turnitin iThenticate with AI Detection Software for the benefit of faculty and students, an awareness workshop was held on December 18, 2024 on Zoom online from 2 pm to 3 pm to educate the Department Coordinators of SJEC regarding the software usage.
Dr Felcy DSouza, College Coordinator for Turnitin Software welcomed the Resource Person, Mr. Akshay Prasanna, South Area Regional Manager for Turnitin India Education Pvt. Ltd. The Resource Person demonstrated the usage of the software in instructor/student mode and elaborated on the creation of classes and assignments, understand the difference between plagiarism/similarity, interpret the similarity/AI report and all the associated settings for similarity check and further provided clarifications for queries from participants. An hour-long demonstration was followed by a question-answer session.
The faculty coordinators from each department attended the workshop and were acquainted with the usage of Turnitin Anti-Plagiarism software. Dr Felcy DSouza thanked Mr. Akshay Prasanna for demonstrating the software and the faculty members for their participation.
