"User Awareness Programme on IRINS" & Launching of IRINS @ SJEC

 

Inteal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Library and Leaing Group, and Research and Facilities Group, SJEC, in collaboration with INFLIBNET Centre, Gujarat, organized a " User Awareness Programme on IRINS" for the faculty members of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) on 26 April 2022 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on hybrid mode.

Dr Vincent Crasta, Dean-Academic, welcomed the gathering, highlighted the programme's objectives, & introduced the Resource Person, Dr Kannan P Scientist-E (LS), INFLIBNET Centre, Gujarat.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp virtually by Rev Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, Director SJEC, Rev Fr Alwyn Richard D'Souza, Assistant Director SJEC, Dr Rio D'Souza, Principal SJEC, Dr Vincent Crasta, Dean-Academic, Dr Sudeer M, Dean-R&D, Dr Shreeranga Bhat Head-IQAC, Mr Ragesh Raju, Chairperson of Library & Leaing Group and Dr Felcy D'Souza, Librarian SJEC.

Dr Rio D'Souza, in his address, mentioning the importance of showcasing the research productivity of the institute, and improving the citations said that every faculty should create their research identity and focus on building a scholarly network of SJEC and faculty members as well.

The dignitaries launched the portal IRINS @ SJEC during the inaugural. In his keynote address, Dr Kannan P Scientist-E (LS) said that IRINS facilitates the academic, R&D organizations and faculty members, research scholars to collect, curate, and showcase the scholarly communication activities and provide an opportunity to create the scholarly network of higher educational institutions.

In his presidential address, Rev Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, said research and publications are crucial to grow and prospect in an academic career. Higher Educational institutions like us should collaborate with other research organizations and improve the research productivity of the institute.

The inaugural was followed by the session on IRINS by Dr Kannan P. He explained the importance of IRINS.

Dr Shreeranga Bhat, Head-IQAC, moderated the session. The session was interesting and fruitful because all participants were actively involved and interacted, and the resource person answered their queries.

Dr Felcy D'Souza, the Librarian, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by Ms Prathima S, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry.

More than 100 faculty members attended the programme.
