Builders Relay

The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Civil NexCon Club, organized an event titled “Builders Relay” on 9th May 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Academic Block IV, First Floor, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru.

The event was designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, planning, and model-building skills among students. The theme of the event, “From sight to sketch, pixel to piece: Can your team bridge the gap?”, focused on transforming visual concepts into physical models through collaborative effort.

A total of 5 interdisciplinary teams participated in the competition. Each team was tasked with interpreting the given design and constructing the model within the stipulated time using the materials provided. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, innovative ideas, and effective coordination among team members.

Students actively engaged in sketching, planning, cutting, assembling, and presenting their models. The competition provided a platform for participants to improve their problem-solving abilities, communication, and practical understanding of structural forms and spatial visualization. The winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes: First Prize: ₹2000 and Second Prize: ₹1000 

The event concluded successfully with active student participation and positive feedback from both participants and organizers. “Builders Relay” served as an engaging learning experience that promoted innovation, teamwork, and hands-on application of engineering concepts among students.
