  • 3-day workshop on “Exploring Network Analysis Tools”

The Department of Intelligent Computing and Business Systems in association with IEEE SJEC Student branch organized workshop on “Exploring Network Analysis Tools” for third year (5th sem) AIML, CSBS and CSE(DS) students on 27th , 28th and 30th October,2025 . The resource persons were Ms Devi krishna K.S, Ms Renuka Tantry and Ms Gayana M N, Assistant Professors, Department of Intelligent Computing and Business Systems, SJEC, Mangaluru.

The workshop aimed to help students gain practical knowledge of how computer networks function in real-life scenarios using tools such as Wireshark, Cisco Packet Tracer, and NS2. Through these tools, participants learned to monitor and analyze network traffic, design and test network setups, and simulate network behavior. The hands-on sessions allowed students to explore packet flow, routing, and performance evaluation, giving them a clear understanding of how data moves across networks and how various devices communicate.

The interactive workshop included live demonstrations and practical exercises where students built network models, captured and analyzed data packets, and studied the working of different network protocols. The resource persons highlighted the importance of these tools in enhancing network performance, identifying security issues, and supporting research in networking. The event concluded with discussions on emerging technologies and the role of network analysis in AI and data science. It provided valuable practical exposure and encouraged students to further explore the field of computer networks and simulation tools. The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Devi Krishna K.S, Ms. Renuka Tantry, and Ms. Gayana M. N., Assistant Professors, Department of Intelligent Computing and Business Systems, SJEC, Mangaluru.
