Anti-Ragging Day

To restraint the menace of ragging and foster a culture of respect, safety, and mutual understanding at SJEC, ChemAtom, in collaboration with the Anti-Ragging Committee under the Discipline & Equity Group, organized two engaging events for the students of SJEC on Anti-Ragging Day. These activities aimed not only to spread awareness about the harmful effects of ragging but also to encourage students to actively participate in creating a ragging-free campus environment. The events included:

  • Poster Making Competition – Participants creatively expressed the theme "Anti-Ragging" through impactful visuals and messages, highlighting the importance of unity, empathy, and safe learning spaces.
  • Reel Making Competition – Students showcased short, powerful video clips on the theme "Anti-Ragging", using storytelling and digital creativity to convey strong messages against ragging and promote positive student interactions.

Students from various sections and branches enthusiastically took part in the events, the winners of the events are as follows:
Poster making Competition:

  • First Prize cash 1500/- Prathiksha S Salian, I Year, MBA,
  • Second Prize cash 1000/- Rahul Ramesh, I Year, MBA

Reel making Competition:

  • First Prize cash 1500/- Himansh S Puthran, 3rd Year CSE
  • Second Prize cash 500/- Neha P Devadiga, II Year, CSE &
  • Second Prize cash 500/- Dakshayini III year CSDS.


All participants were awarded e-certificates, and the prize distribution ceremony was graced by Dean of Student Welfare, Dr. K. Jyothi. The event was organized under the guidance of the Anti-Ragging Committee Coordinators, Dr. Pramila Rita D’Souza and Dr. Ajithanjaya Kumar, along with the Discipline & Equity Group (DEG) Coordinator, Ms. Olivia Sequeira, and Event Coordinator, Ms. Sheetal Tresa Fernandes and faculty of Chemistry department. Through these initiatives, SJEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels secure, valued, and empowered to learn.
