The Department of Chemistry under the banner of "ChemAtom Assosiaction" organized student outreach programme to St Jacobs Aided Higher Primary School Farla on 19 June 2018. The objective of the visit was to enhance the knowledge of Chemistry by conducting few experiments mentioned in their syllabus with the help of faculty members and BE students. The Headteacher Mrs. Jacintha Saldhana welcomed us all. The programme started with a short welcome along with lighting of the lamp. It was a delight to see such young minds with brimming with enthusiasm. The team of faculty and students from the first year B.E had selected a few topics in Chemistry from their class syllabus. Topics as Periodic Table dealt by Mr Akash (EEE), Chemical Bonding by Mr Rolsen (ENC), Chemical Combination reactions By Mr Sanketh(ENC),Displacement reaction by Ms. Raksha,Double Displacemnent by Mr Sagar(ENC),Neutralisation by Mr. Sandesh (EEE),Elements and Compounds Mr Vignesh (ENC),Metals & Non Meats by Ms. Sushma (ENC),and Hard water & soft water by Ms Sumashree (ENC) were dealt. When Chemical reactions were shown through animation it was a delight to watch that satisfying smile on those young faces. When experiments were conducted and magic tricks were demonstrated the children were filled with exhilaration. Later to make the session even more leaing oriented Quiz was conducted on the topic that was dealt, students were raising their hands eager to answer the question and every right answer was awarded with a prize. Towards the end of the session refreshments were served to all. It was a teaching leaing experience for all of us. The school management on behalf of the students thanked us for coming to their school and enhancing the knowledge of Chemistry in their students through mode technology. It was indeed a sense of satisfaction that we all felt on achieving the objective which we had planned for.
