An alumni talk on “Project Guidance for Final Year Civil Engineering Students” was organized on 22 August 2026. The session aimed to equip final-year students with actionable strategies for selecting, executing, and presenting their capstone projects.
The resource person, Ms. Mahima S. Rao, Doctoral Researcher at IIT Madras and distinguished alumna, shared insights drawn from her research background. She guided students through critical phases of project development, including identifying relevant topics, conducting systematic literature reviews, defining clear objectives, and maintaining rigorous documentation. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of practical applicability, innovative problem-solving, efficient time management, and impactful presentation skills.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where students clarified queries regarding topic selection and execution. The event was coordinated by Mr. Sachin U and Mr. Govinda Krishna.
