The Green Building Model Competition was organized by SHILPA – Students Project Club, Department of Civil Engineering, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, on 13 December 2025 at the SHILPA Lab, Civil Block, to promote sustainable construction practices and the use of waste materials in green buildings. The event began at 9:30 AM and was inaugurated by the In-charge HOD, Dr. Nishitha J. D’Souza.
A total of 11 teams participated, presenting innovative models based on the theme “Innovative Green Building Using Waste Materials.” The models were evaluated by Dr. ESTR Chandra Sekhar and Mr. Chitharanjan. The competition concluded at 12:30 PM with a prize distribution ceremony, awarding ₹2000 for the first prize and ₹1000 for the second prize, along with e-certificates to all participants.
The event was well coordinated by the student coordinators, Saatwik N. Thokkuttu and Hemanth A. N., under the guidance of the faculty coordinators, Dr. Aswathy C. M., Ms. Sinchana K., and Dr. Yajhneswaran B., HOD, Civil Engineering Department.
