A seminar on “Plastic Usage and Plastic Waste Management” was organized at St Raymond’s Primary School, Vamanjoor on 19th February 2020 by the Department of Civil Engineering, SJEC, Mangaluru in association with Kaataka State Plastic Association (KSPA), Bengaluru and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)-SJEC Student Chapter, under the leadership of Mr. Prashant Kurdekar, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, SJEC. A team of final year Civil Engineering students consisting Manisha Kottary, Athira Vijaykumar, Pooja L, Jahnavi U Mulki, Jithesh Kumar B, John Elton D’Souza, Ignatius Jose, Rwithikh B, Swasthi Adappa, Vaishak, Zayyan Mohammed and Rohan Pais presented the presentation to the school students. The seminar aimed at providing knowledge about the plastic and spread awareness on plastic pollution, plastic management, prevention and control of plastic pollution among the young minds. The students appreciated the presentation and actively interacted to gain more information on plastic.
