Large Language Model workshop for ICBS faculties and students

The Department of Intelligent Computing and Business Systems (ICBS) in association with IEEE SJEC Student Chapter, organized a workshop on “LLM in Industrial Standpoint” at Prerana Hall, for ICBS faculties and students on 13-05-2024 during 10:00 am-04:00 pm. Mr. Muthumanickavel Swaminathan, Lead Data Scientist, Cognizant, UK was the resource person for the event. Dr. Shreenath Acharya delivered the presidential address.

The session at ICBS aimed to raise awareness among staff and students about the latest industry trends, with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), the core technology behind ChatGPT. The workshop covered topics such as machine learning, deep learning, Generative AI, the architecture of LLMs including Transformers and attention models, and the processes involved in LLM training and fine-tuning. It also emphasized identifying real-world problem statements for student projects and research. Additionally, useful learning resources like ‘Deeplearning.ai’ were introduced, along with discussions on practical LLM applications and use cases.
