USER AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON “Unlocking Innovation: Mastering IEEE Xplore for Research & Learning Excellence”

Library & Learning Group and the Department of ICBS, in association with IEEE under VTU Consortium, have organized the VTU Consortium User Awareness Programme “Unlocking Innovation: Mastering IEEE Xplore for Research & Learning Excellence” for the higher semester students of CSE, ICBS, EEE, ECE and the faculty of all disciplines on 28th August 2025 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Zoom platform at Kalam Auditorium.

Dr. Felcy D’Souza, Librarian, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Resource Person Mr. M S Srinivasa, Training Manager for IEEE Xplore (South India), VTU Consortium. The main objectives of the programme were to familiarize the new features of IEEE Xplore; Enhance Research Skills; Promote Academic Excellence, Encourage Originality, and Empower Collaboration.

The Resource Person gave a detailed insight into the IEEE Xplore Digital Library and its resources. He also briefed about the advanced search, command search, citation search, remote access, choosing topics for projects from IEEE and its importance for placements, creating alerts on new articles and topics, different types of search techniques which help to narrow down the search results, etc. He also added on how to publish a paper in IEEE conferences and journals, and its importance to the students to strengthen their profile for placements as well as for seeking higher studies abroad.

The programme was coordinated by Ms. Pratibha Gaonkar and Ms. Gayana M. N., Assistant Professors, ICBS. The programme was compered by Ms. Carol Sweedle Pinto and Ms. Lenisha Shalma Pinto, Students of CSDS. A total of 267 participants participated in this programme. E-Certificates are issued to all the participants.
